The Pediatric and Congenital EP Forum, themed “Electrophysiology Across the Lifespan: From Pediatric to Adult Congenital Care,” brought together experts to explore arrhythmia management from childhood through adulthood. Moderated by Prof. Muzakkir, MD, PhD, and Hermawan, MD, the forum addressed key challenges in pediatric and congenital electrophysiology.

Faris Basalamah, MD, PhD, opened with a discussion on WPW syndrome in the modern era, covering contemporary approaches to diagnosis, risk stratification, and ablation. Simon Salim, MD, followed by examining arrhythmias associated with congenital heart disease and their progression from childhood into adulthood, with emphasis on long-term management. The session concluded with Rubiana Sukardi, MD, PhD, who explored “Scar, Substrate, and Tachycardia,” focusing on arrhythmias arising after congenital heart repair and the mechanisms underlying these tachyarrhythmias.

The discussion then shifted to inherited arrhythmias through the Genetic Arrhythmia Forum, themed “Inherited Arrhythmia Syndromes: From Gene Variant to Clinical Decision.” Moderated by Mohammad Iqbal, MD, PhD, and Rith Chandara, MD, the forum examined how genetic information can be translated into clinically meaningful risk assessment and treatment decisions.

Prof. Jong Il Choi, MD, PhD, discussed high-risk genotypes in electrophysiology, highlighting the role of genetic profiling in identifying patients at increased risk of sudden cardiac death. Benny Mulyanto Setiadi, MD, addressed risk stratification in long QT syndrome, emphasizing that assessment should extend beyond QTc duration alone. The session concluded with Pipin Ardhianto, MD, who presented a state-of-the-art update on arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy in 2026, covering advances in diagnosis and management.

Together, the two forums highlighted the increasingly individualized nature of arrhythmia care, integrating age, congenital anatomy, disease substrate, and genetic information to guide clinical decision-making across the lifespan.
