Beyond the Monitor: Decoding Cardiac Rhythm and Insight from the Latest Research

Discover practical insight of cardiac rhythm and latest findings at ASM InaHRS

How To Session 3: Interpreting Holter and Event Monitor Reports

Following the opening ceremony, “How To Session 3: Interpreting Holter and Event Monitor Reports” was moderated by Yoga Waranugraha, MD, with a focus on the practical interpretation of ambulatory ECG monitoring for cardiologists.

Dian Andina Munawar, MD, PhD, opened the session by discussing the fundamentals of Holter monitoring, including how to interpret and report findings. The discussion continued with Fandi Ahmad, MD, who explored common pitfalls in ambulatory ECG interpretation through a case-based approach. Participants were guided through systematic interpretation while being reminded of a key principle: “Never trust a label without seeing the tracing.”

The session concluded with Reynold Agustinus, MD, who discussed establishing diagnoses from Holter findings and distinguishing between Holter monitoring and cardiac event monitoring. He emphasized that ECG remains a valuable diagnostic tool and the gold standard for detecting arrhythmias, while the choice of monitoring modality should be tailored to each patient’s clinical needs. A brief Q&A session concluded the program.

Oral Presentation 2: Review & Meta-Analysis

The Singapore Room hosted “Oral Presentation 2: Review & Meta-Analysis,” featuring presentations by Ardhestiro P, Delta I, Robert F, Nicholas R, Rafif GB, Angki P, and Syahda A. Their research findings were presented before a panel comprising Hazleena Mohamed Hasnan, MD; Chaerul Achmad, MD, PhD; and Prof. Ligang Ding, MD, PhD.

The session fostered an engaging exchange between presenters, panelists, and participants, with discussions centered on the presented scientific findings and their clinical relevance. The range of review and meta-analysis topics provided participants with updated evidence and perspectives applicable to contemporary cardiovascular practice. A concluding Q&A session allowed participants to further explore the findings and methodological considerations raised during the presentations.
